Tanker Pilot:Lessons from the Cockpit chronicles the authors experiences flying KC-135 refueling missions to illustrate twenty-two lessons learned which can be used on the battlefield, in the boardroom, and in everyday life. Mark’s flying career spans the Reagan Cold War with Soviet Russia to hunting bin Laden in the Shahikot Valley of Afghanistan and Saddam Hussein hiding at the Dora Farms facility in downtown Baghdad. Mark discusses lessons for success such as courage, discipline, humor, compassion, job satisfaction, initiative and innovation.
About the Author
Mark Hasara is a retired KC-135 Instructor Pilot in the United States Air Force. He flew refueling missions in Operations Desert Storm, Allied Force, Enduring Freedom and was in charge of all air refueling operations for Iraqi Freedom’s Shock and Awe campaign. He has operational experience in numerous aircraft to include the KC-10, Royal Air Force VC-10, US Navy S-3 Viking, and the F-15 Eagle. Mark was on the Initial Cadre for the US Air Force Weapons School 509th Weapons Squadron and Curriculum Director at National Defense University’s Joint and Combined Warfighter School.
